Cranberry: a star is born!
The cranberry is a more and more popular. Did you know that we are eating them more than thirty years ago? Although the taste is very interesting, we can eat or drink them, especially once transformed.
Everybody is talking increasingly of beneficial effects of the cranberry. This small berry, which belongs to the same family as the blueberry, has been used for centuries by the Amerindians for cooking, but also for its benefits.
The pigments, that give the cranberry its red color, are also responsible for health benefits. Their scientific names are proanthocyanidins and are known to prevent bacteria from sticking to the walls tissues and thus cause infections. It is this property that would be involved in the protection of urinary tract infections and possibly, tooth decay and stomach ulcer.
The new fair trade and organic cranberry herbal tea offers a way to harness the benefits.

A Sustainable Community in the Egyptian Desert!
We are proud to announce that our family of fair trade herbal teas has just become bigger!
Four O'Clock has purchased fair trade certified chamomile flowers, hibiscus flowers and peppermint leaves from a small cooperative in Egypt, located about 60 km North of Cairo.
Therefore, on your next purchase of our Pomegranate Echinacea, Peaceful Dreams or Ginkgo Ginger herbal teas, you will also be contributing to improve the quality of life of this Egyptian community.
In many parts of Egypt, people do not have access to basic amenities such as fresh water, medical centres, schools, proper housing, transportation and communication facilities.
The farmers recognized the idea of Fair Trade as a wonderful initiative to solve the existing social and cultural problems in Egypt by assisting the people to support themselves financially through increased economic activity.
Matcha : Treasured green tea powder from Japan
Matcha is the result of tea whose leaves were 90% sheltered in the shade three weeks prior to harvesting. Once harvested, the leaves are first steamed and then dried. Using a stone grinder, the green tea leaves are then ground to achieve the ultimate effect; a fine fluorescent green powder called Matcha. To prepare a mere 30 grams of this precious Matcha tea will require one hour of grinding. Matcha is a favourite ingredient in many recipes, more notably the early morning breakfast milk shake.
Two new herbal tea blends with fair trade spices
In the pursuit to satisfy the ever-growing demand for spiced herbal teas, we will proudly introduce two new herbal teas in May; "Licorice Spice", reminiscent of the black Licorice candy with a hint of star anis and our "Chocolate Spice", inspired from a Mexican beverage flavoured with chocolate and infused with spices such as cinnamon and cloves.
